SustainSolar is thrilled to present the latest addition to our product portfolio: the SUSTAIN BOX™. It is a free-standing turn-key energy storage cabinet, integrated with a Sunsynk hybrid inverter and SolarMD Pty Ltd LFP batteries. The SUSTAIN BOX™ is pre-wired and configured for true plug-and-play AC/DC integration; ideal for various storage applications such as UPS and back-up, PV self-consumption optimization, and off-grid energy supply , such as the electrification of health clinics in rural areas across the continent.
The SUSTAIN BOX™ can be disassembled into two parts for ease of transportation and installation. Its capacity varies up to 10 or 12 kW for the inverter, and up to 30 kWh battery storage. The SUSTAIN BOX™ was successfully launched last month at SolarMD’s end of year function, and we are encouraged by the positive feedback received. This product development would not have been possible without the support of our suppliers and partners to whom we are indebted: SolarMD, CNC and Herholts.
Our first order of five boxes was successfully completed, and is currently en route to Uganda as part of the electrification of five health clinics to support maternal and child health (MCH) services in partnership with Equatorial Power Ltd. and funded by USAID/Power Africa, previously announced (here). SustainSolar in collaboration with Equatorial Power will deliver and install 5 SUSTAIN BOX™ units in Uganda’s Namayingo District. The units will power equipment (such as refrigerators, incubators and sterilizers) to improve MCH services. By sustainably powering these MCH clinics, the grant program aims to support increased access to antenatal care, routine immunization, improve diagnostic services for children and pregnant women, and expand hours of service delivery which is especially crucial for after-dark emergency care and childbirth.
